In a thrilling turn of events at the 2025 Pure Poker Tour Series #3, the one-day tournament held on Thursday, Zachary York, a newcomer to the PPT scene, emerged victorious in Event #2. This marked his first PPT trophy win and a significant milestone in his poker career.

The $340 NLH/PLO Mixed tournament, which attracted over 81 entries, saw York outlast his opponents to claim the top prize of approximately $7,400. The tournament, open to all players, also featured a restricted-entry game for Seniors at the beginning of the day, with the Seniors game taking place on opening day.

The tournament started at 4 PM with open entry for all players, and late entry and rebuys were open until Level 9, approximately 8:30 PM. After Level 9, there were no more late entries or rebuys, and the tournament raced to the finish.

Alek Gillies will be handling the reporting duties on opening day, while Stefan Maloney, a local PLO reg, and Julius Roque, a ring winner in this discipline, are expected to participate in the tournament. The author of this article may also join the tournament later, should the Seniors game not go as planned.

The tournament uses 30-minute levels with 25k starting chips and alternates between two cards and four cards every level, adding an interesting dynamic to the gameplay. The winner of the tournament will receive a PPT trophy as a symbol of their achievement.
