Volunteer Agency Münster Hosts Seventh TimePencilDay

The Volunteer Agency Münster is once again organising the TimePencilDay, a day dedicated to encouraging young people to engage in voluntary work. This year marks the seventh time the event will take place, with over 100 apprentices from various organisations set to participate.

The Volunteer Agency, an institution of the municipally managed foundation Siverdes, plays a significant role in inspiring young people for engagement. Nicole Lau, project leader at the Volunteer Agency, agrees that the TimePencilDay has an impact not only on the day itself but also beyond.

During the TimePencilDay, seventeen non-profit institutions receive active support from the apprentices. The tasks vary, with apprentices painting a meeting point for homeless people, maintaining biotopes, or bringing variety to nursing homes.

The Volunteer Agency is not only a contact point for apprentices but also for institutions, associations, and initiatives that work with volunteers. It offers further training in its Volunteer Academy and provides support and resources to non-profit organizations during the TimePencilDay.

Daniel Großbröhmer, head of the business office of communal foundations Münster, believes the TimePencilDay inspires young people for engagement. Yannick Evenkamp, an apprentice at Sparkasse Münsterland Ost, echoes this sentiment, finding the opportunity to do good, get to know other worlds, and try out engagement motivating.

Marlene Arlt, an apprentice at BASF Coatings, also finds the TimePencilDay motivating because it allows her to engage socially and learn something new. Emery Cage, an apprentice at Stadtwerke Münster, finds the support of non-profit organizations important due to their lack of resources and staff.

Eva Völker, a dual student at the city of Münster, is looking forward to the day as it allows her to engage with people on site. The Volunteer Agency emphasises that everyone who wants to engage can find a place with them.

To get in touch with the Volunteer Agency, you can call them at 0251/492-5970 or visit their website at www.freiwilligenagentur-muenster.de. The TimePencilDay of the Volunteer Agency Münster is being organised for the seventh time by the Freiwilligenagentur Münster, part of the communal foundation Siverdes.
