Minister's Tour of Southeast Highlights Infrastructure Development

Alhaji Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, is currently in Enugu and Ebonyi states for a citizens engagement and tour of Federal Government's projects. The Minister's visit is part of President Bola Tinubu's commitment to ensuring that the people of the Southeast are not left behind in his march towards ensuring infrastructural development across Nigeria.

During his tour, the Minister emphasized that President Tinubu is working hard to ensure that the people of the Southeast are not left behind. One of the major projects President Tinubu is doing for the region is the Enugu-Abakaliki-Ogoja Federal Road project.

Mr Wasiu Femi, the site engineer handling the project, reported that concrete works and a little bit of work on the carriageway are currently being done. However, due to incessant rains, not much work could be done on earthworks until after the rainy season. Mr Femi mentioned that they have moved to paving with a stone base and are waiting for the moisture content to reach an optimal level before starting with their rigid pavement.

The Minister and his team also visited the ongoing works at the Enugu-Port Harcourt Road, the flyover bridge on Enugu-Abakaliki Road, the Oncological Centre of the University of Nigeria's Teaching Hospital, Enugu, and many other sites during their tour. The Minister indicated that President Tinubu will ensure timely completion of all these massive projects, especially in the Southeastern part of the country.

The Minister's visit to the various sites was also aimed at ensuring that the people of the South-East Region are not left behind in President Tinubu's march towards ensuring infrastructural development across Nigeria. The Minister's goal, along with President Tinubu, is to ensure connectivity, especially in the Southeastern Region.

The Minister's tour and citizens engagement were not limited to the Enugu-Abakaliki-Ogoja Federal Road project, but also included other projects in the South-East Region. The Minister's team's visit to the various sites was reported by the NAN news agency.

The Minister's tour started with a visit to Enugu State Governor, Mr Peter Mbah. The Minister and his team plan to visit other parts of the Southeast to see what is happening with other Federal Government's projects. President Tinubu is determined to ensure timely completion of all projects in the South-East Region.

The Minister's visit to the various sites was also part of his goal to ensure that President Tinubu's efforts towards infrastructural development in the South-East Region are not overlooked. During his tour, the Minister mentioned seeing a massive flyover of about 350 metres in Enugu State. The Minister's tour and citizens engagement were a testament to President Tinubu's commitment to ensuring that the people of the Southeast have access to modern infrastructure.
