Today marks Apple's major reveal of the year's most anticipated announcements. Here's a sneak peek at what could be unveiled.
Apple is set to unveil its latest devices at its annual hardware event on Tuesday, with the pressure to impress especially high this year. The event, known as "awe dropping," will take place at 1 p.m. ET from Apple's Cupertino, California, headquarters.
The iPhone 17 lineup is expected to see improvements to core functionalities like battery life, camera quality, and design. Apple is rumored to be announcing four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the iPhone 17 Air, a new addition to the iPhone family.
The iPhone 17 Air, which may be called the "iPhone Air," is expected to be the main attraction. This slimmer model with a larger screen than the regular iPhone 17 but smaller than the super-sized Pro Max could potentially have a shorter battery life and less advanced camera capabilities compared to the regular iPhone 17.
Apple may increase the price of the iPhone Pro model by $100 and list the iPhone Air for $100 more than the mid-range iPhone 16 Plus. Some analysts predict Apple could raise iPhone prices due to tariffs, while others like Morgan Stanley analysts call the likely price hikes "modest" and say they'd be unlikely to dent iPhone demand.
In addition to the iPhone 17, Apple is expected to announce the updated Apple Watch Series 11, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, and the Apple Watch SE 3. Both the lower and high-end Apple Watch models are expected to get larger screens and faster chips. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 could potentially have satellite connectivity, a first for the Apple Watch line.
The high-end AirPods model could get their first upgrade in three years with the AirPods Pro 3, which could have live translation capabilities and potentially a heart rate model. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst known for his accurate Apple product forecasts, has predicted an even bigger update for the AirPods Pro next week, with the potential inclusion of a small camera for easier gesture control.
Android rivals have released their own thinner smartphones, such as the Galaxy S25 Edge and Tecno Slim. Apple has been tight-lipped about its plans for the event, but it is reportedly hoping that the new iPhone Air will spur a strong uptick in sales.
