Today marks the observance of Pakistan Defence Day
Today, on the 6th of September, Pakistan is observing its 60th Defence Day, a day that marks the nation's triumph over adversity during the 1965 War.
In 1965, the Indian forces crossed the international border with the intention of attacking Pakistan. However, the nation managed to foil the enemy's nefarious designs, a testament to the courage and determination of the Pakistani military. Fateha and Quran Khawani are religious rituals performed for the deceased, and they are being held for the martyrs of the 1965 war. These solemn ceremonies are being held at the Quaid's mausoleum in Karachi and Allama Iqbal's Mazar in Lahore, paying homage to the fallen heroes.
Allama Iqbal, a poet and philosopher who is considered the spiritual father of Pakistan, once said, "You are the nation of Muhammad, you will be safe." This sentiment rings true today as the civil and military leaderships in Pakistan hail the victory over India in the 1965 war.
The inauguration ceremony of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took place on April 11, 2022. On this occasion, the Prime Minister commemorated the sacrifices of the fallen heroes during the 1965 war against India.
