Tomorrow's talent in robotic technology being explored by business development, OTH, and Regensburg University during their visit to Innok Robotics in the region.
In the picturesque town of Regenstauf, a unique networking format is bringing together international talents and innovative companies, as part of an initiative to secure skilled workers for the region.
This initiative, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is a significant step towards meeting the demand for skilled workers in the companies and offering a professional future in the region for the graduates.
Roland Weiß, economic promoter of the Regensburg district, highlighted the format's uniqueness, emphasising the direct connection between international talents and innovative companies. The close cooperation between science, business, and regional promotion is considered a special feature of the Regensburg district.
On August 28th, 2020, the Economic Development Department of the Regensburg district visited Innok Robotics, a company based in Regenstauf that develops robotics solutions used throughout Europe. The visit was attended by international students from the Ostbavarian Technical University (OTH) Regensburg and the University of Regensburg.
Theresa Zirkelbach, personnel manager at Innok Robotics, stated that creative, well-trained specialists are essential for the company. The purpose of the visit was to show international students the prospects in the region and to demonstrate the innovative power of local companies.
By connecting international students with local businesses early, opportunities are created for both sides. Companies gain highly qualified specialists, while students find a professional home in the region. District Councilor Tanja Schweiger stated that international students bring valuable specialist knowledge and new perspectives that are crucial for the future of the region.
The visit to Innok Robotics was part of a series of events that network international students with employers from the Regensburg district. These events are funded within the framework of the projects "OTH BRIDGE" (OTH Regensburg) and iSTEPS (University of Regensburg). The networking efforts aim to create a win-win situation for all involved, contributing to the Regensburg district remaining a strong and attractive economic location.
Innok Robotics, with its autonomous outdoor-capable robots in production, provided a practical insight into innovative career paths for the international students. The visit offered them a chance to explore various job entry opportunities within the company, as part of a regional initiative connecting students with local employers to retain future skilled workers in the region.
The Regensburg district values the intercultural skills and specialist knowledge that international students bring, as highlighted by Innok Robotics. This networking format creates a network that continues to have an effect beyond the study time, making a real contribution to securing skilled workers in the region.
