Kelley Blue Book Announces 2024 Best Resale Value Awards

Kelley Blue Book, a Cox Automotive company, has announced the winners of the 2024 Best Resale Value Awards, recognising vehicles that are expected to retain the highest percentage of their Manufacturerโ€™s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) after a five-year ownership period.

In the Luxury Electric Car category, the Mercedes-EQ EQS takes the top spot, demonstrating strong demand for electric vehicles in the premium segment. The Toyota Prius, a long-time favourite in the hybrid market, is projected to retain around 58% or more of its MSRP, making it a reliable choice for environmentally-conscious drivers.

In the Sports Car category, the Chevrolet Corvette continues its dominance, winning the award for Best Resale Value for the third consecutive year. The Honda Accord triumphs in the Midsize Car category, while the Honda Civic takes the prize in the Compact Car category.

The Luxury Full-Size SUV category sees the Mercedes-Benz G-Class emerge victorious, with the Toyota Land Cruiser and Range Rover vying closely for second place. The Rivian R1S, an electric vehicle startup, makes history by winning the Best Resale Value Award in the Electric SUV category, signalling a promising future for the electric vehicle market.

Toyota secures the award for Best Resale Value: Brand for the third consecutive year, underscoring the enduring appeal of its vehicles. Lexus, a luxury division of Toyota, wins the award for Best Resale Value: Luxury Brand for the third consecutive year and fifth time overall.

In the Truck and SUV categories, the Toyota Tundra wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Full-Size Pickup Truck category, while the Toyota Tacoma takes the prize in the Midsize Pickup Truck category. The Ford F-150 Lightning, the electric version of the iconic Ford F-150, wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Electric Truck category.

The Subaru Crosstrek wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Subcompact SUV category, and the Hyundai Palisade takes the prize in the Midsize SUV category. The Ford Bronco wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Off-Road SUV category, while the Toyota 4Runner is expected to retain around 58% or more of its MSRP after a five-year ownership period.

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Electric Car category, and the Ford Maverick takes the prize in the Compact Pickup Truck category. The Porsche 718 Cayman, Toyota GR Supra, and Chevrolet Corvette are all projected to retain around 58% or more of their MSRP after a five-year ownership period.

Finally, the Cadillac Lyriq wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Luxury Electric SUV category, and the Ford Bronco Sport wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Subcompact SUV category. The Toyota Sienna wins the award for Best Resale Value in the Minivan category.

These awards highlight the vehicles that offer the best long-term value for consumers, taking into account both initial cost and expected resale value. By choosing a vehicle with strong resale value, consumers can ensure they are making a sound investment in their transportation needs.
