Kazakhstan's Poker Scene, 2016:
Alma City - Opened in March, didn't start strong but picked up later. Cheap limit, Kazakh vibes, weekly tournaments. A top candidate for "Club of the Year."
Bombay - Been around since 2013, a swanky casino, hosted one EAPT series and APoker.kz Cup tourney. Spotty tournament schedule after mid-year, but solid if you're into cash games.
CashVille - Just one EAPT series, moved into casino digs. Weekend cash games only. Disagreements with Rixos Hotel kept tournaments at bay.
Flamingo - Opened in autumn, started with a bang but fizzled out fast. Good cash games, fun tournament, but has lost steam. Seems a bit crowded for three clubs in Kapchagay.
Macau - Known for being uncooperative, canned tournaments in 2016. Rumor has it Macau-Bellagio will one day take over the poker world. Worth checking out, could be a game-changer.

I'm considering a trip to Las Vegas for a change, immersing myself in the casino-and-gambling culture, and playing poker at a premier casino like the one in Alma City, Kazakhstan seems equally intriguing. Perhaps, one day, I could participate in a cash game or tournament at the renovated CashVille, just as engaging as the casino-games in a swanky establishment like Bombay.
