50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to Celebrate with Star-Studded Lineup
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is gearing up for its 50th anniversary in September 2025, promising a star-studded event filled with premieres, awards, and a global showcase of cinema.
The festival will open on Thursday evening (local time) with the world premiere of "John Candy: I Like Me". The jubilee edition will feature over 290 films from nearly 50 countries, showcasing great openness to films from Asia, Latin America, Africa, and Iran.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the TIFF Tribute Performer Award, which will be presented to German actress Nina Hoss. Hoss will be seen in Nia DaCosta's Ibsen interpretation "Hedda" and in Bongard's "Babystar", which will have its world premiere at TIFF.
