Simac Ladies Tour 2025: Lorena Wiebes Secures Fourth Consecutive Win

In the fourth stage of the Simac Ladies Tour 2025, Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx-Protime) claimed victory, extending her lead in the overall general classification. The 125.8km stage from Alkmaar saw a tight-knit peloton that prevented any major breakaways, but Wiebes managed to secure a 10-second time bonus from her sprint win.

The race began with a major crash immediately after the start, affecting nearly a dozen riders and forcing the abandon of India Grainger (Team Coop-Repsol). Despite this setback, the peloton maintained a steady pace throughout the stage. Maud Rijnbeek (VolkerWessels Cycling Team) launched a short attack within the final 15km, but the sprint teams were too focused on controlling the race.

As the finish line approached, Letizia Paternoster (Liv-AlUla-Jayco) initiated the sprint, and Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek) made a significant sprint acceleration in the final 500m. However, it was Wiebes who made the decisive move, securing her victory and marking her 114th career win.

Chiara Consonni (Canyon//SRAM Zondacrypto) finished in a close second place, and Shari Bossuyt (AG Insurance-Soudal Team) in third. The full stage results are as follows:

  1. Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx-Protime)
  2. Chiara Consonni (Canyon//SRAM Zondacrypto)
  3. Shari Bossuyt (AG Insurance-Soudal Team)
  4. Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek)
  5. Marta Bastianelli (Liv-AlUla-Jayco)
  6. Rachele Barbieri (Liv-AlUla-Jayco)
  7. Lotte Kopecky (Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling)
  8. Marta Cavalli (FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope)
  9. Marlen Reusser (AlΓ© BTC Ljubljana)
  10. Demi Vollering (Team SD Worx-Protime)

With this win, Wiebes now leads the overall general classification by 30 seconds over Megan Jastrab (Picnic-PostNL). The leader in the overall classification of the Simac Ladies Tour 2025 after the completion of the 4th stage is Demi Vollering.

The Simac Ladies Tour 2025 continues tomorrow with the fifth stage, promising more exciting racing action. Stay tuned for updates.
