Mayor's Visit Kicks Off Exciting Spielmobil Season in Passau

Mayor Andreas Rother recently paid a visit to the Spielmobil, a mobile play centre designed to stimulate the imagination and creativity of children aged 6 to 12. The visit, warmly welcomed by the children and staff, marked the beginning of an action-packed season for the Spielmobil.

Based in the city of Passau, the Stadtjugendring Passau is responsible for the design and execution of the Spielmobil's program. With a commitment to pedagogical excellence, they have crafted a series of engaging activities that aim to foster children's initiative, imagination, and love for play.

This year, the Spielmobil will visit five locations, one more than in previous years. The first stop will be at the Tennis Club Passau-Neustift from August 21 to August 21, 2025. Following this, the Spielmobil will move to Bschuett Park Passau on August 22 and August 29, and then to the Playground at Breslauer Street from August 25 to August 28. The journey will continue until the end of August, bringing the joy of play to children across the city.

Participation in the Spielmobil's activities is free and does not require registration. The Stadtjugendring's full-time and volunteer staff are on site daily from 1 to 5 pm, providing a variety of afternoon programs. However, it's important to note that the activities are canceled in case of rain.

On August 20, 2025, Mayor Andreas Rother also visited the Spielmobil at Bschuett Park. His representative was present during the initial visit. The mayor's support underscores the importance of initiatives like the Spielmobil in fostering a vibrant and engaged community.

It's worth noting that the Spielmobil does not function as a daycare service. Instead, it has an open character, allowing children to decide when to participate. This approach encourages children to take ownership of their play and learning experiences.

The Stadtjugendring Passau is led by Tobias Waldherr, the board member, and Karin Meyer, the business manager. Their dedication to providing enriching experiences for children is evident in the meticulous planning and execution of the Spielmobil's program.

As the Spielmobil embarks on its city-wide tour, it promises to bring a world of play, learning, and fun to the children of Passau. So, mark your calendars and join in the excitement!
