Tourists of Arab descent suffer casualties in traffic accident during street racing event in Pattaya
In the early hours of this morning, an unfortunate incident occurred on a public road in Pattaya, Thailand. The accident, which took place opposite Makro Pattaya in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, involved several motorcycles and resulted in injuries to the Arab tourists involved.
The accident occurred around 3:06am and was confirmed to be an illegal street race. CCTV footage was reviewed by Pattaya police to confirm the high-speed crash, which saw two black Honda CBR 650R big bikes and a white Yamaha Spark involved.
Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to the scene promptly. Upon arrival, they found two injured riders near the overturned white Yamaha Spark, lying in pools of blood. Two riders, who were part of the accident, suffered serious head injuries.
Rescuers provided first aid to the injured riders before rushing them to the hospital. Sadly, several riders were sent flying due to the impact of the crash, adding to the chaos and severity of the incident.
A witness, Chakphong Wong-in, saw the Arab tourists racing before the accident. He was attempting to record a video of the racing when the accident occurred. The police recorded the evidence for further investigation.
It was later revealed that the injured Arabs involved in the accident on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya were of Lebanese and Syrian nationalities. This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with illegal street racing and the importance of road safety.
