Town hall's election office commences operations
Gütersloh, Germany - Residents of Gütersloh who are German or EU citizens, aged 16 or over, and have lived in the city for at least 16 days before the election are eligible to vote in the local elections on September 14, 2025. Additionally, around 80,080 eligible voters can participate in these elections.
For those who cannot or do not wish to vote at the polling station on election day, postal voting is an option. Postal voting documents can be requested in person at the town hall, online at www.wahlen.unsere Website, or in writing. The postal voting office will be open from Mondays to Thursdays from 8 am to 5 pm, on Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm, and on Saturday, 23 August, from 9 am to 1 pm. The postal voting office in the citizen's office of the town hall will be open from Wednesday, 13 August, without prior appointment. The voting envelopes for postal voting must arrive at the town hall by 4 pm on election day at the latest.
Changes in the electoral districts mean that there will be 24 polling stations in Gütersloh on September 14, 2025. New polling stations include the rooms of ash Gütersloh gGmbH in Vollrath-Müller-Straße 3-13 in the northern city center and the rooms of the Central Academy for Professions in Health Care (ZAB) at Hermann-Simon-Straße 7 in the western part of Gütersloh.
The local elections and the election of the Integration Council are scheduled for the same day, September 14, 2025. Eligible voters for the Integration Council election must possess foreign citizenship or have acquired German citizenship through naturalization, be 16 years old, have lived legally in Germany for one year, and have lived in Gütersloh for at least 16 days. Around 31,950 people will elect the Integration Council of the city.
Anyone who believes they are eligible to vote but has not received a notification by Sunday, 24 August, should contact the town hall by Friday, 29 August. Notifications for the local elections and the election of the Integration Council will be sent out in the coming days.
