In the early hours of September 5, 2025, a significant traffic incident occurred in Lübeck-Buntekuh, Germany. A tanker truck lost its trailer, leading to a situation that required the immediate response of local authorities and a specialist company.
The incident took place at around 21:45 on September 4, 2025, as the truck was exiting the A1 federal highway at the Moisling interchange. The truck, carrying a load of diesel, was attempting to turn left onto the Padeluffer Weg when the trailer detached. Fortunately, no hazardous materials were spilled during the accident.
The driver, a 40-year-old man from Hamburg, is currently under investigation for alleged violations of clutch regulations. His identity has not been publicly disclosed. Following the accident, a crane was used to lift the trailer for reattachment, a process that was completed after 03:00 on September 5, 2025.
The reassembled vehicle was escorted by the police to a nearby industrial estate. An administrative offense procedure was initiated against the Hamburg driver for suspected violations of trailer coupling regulations. The police are also investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
