Traffic Accident with Significant Injuries and Property Damage: Recorded under BAB A81 for investigation

On the morning of August 30, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on the A81 motorway between Herrenberg and Rottenburg junctions, heading towards Singen. The incident involved a VW Polo and a BMW, with both vehicles sustaining significant damage.

According to the police report, the VW driver, aged 25, attempted to overtake the BMW on the right, despite the prohibition, resulting in a collision. The BMW driver, aged 24, moved to the right lane to allow the VW driver to overtake, but the manoeuvre unfortunately led to the accident.

As a result of the collision, the VW driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The BMW driver, on the other hand, only sustained minor injuries and was released at the scene. Fortunately, the two passengers in the BMW were uninjured.

The accident caused the motorway in the direction of Singen to be fully closed for the duration of the accident investigation and clearance, from around 00:15 until about 01:15. In addition to the police, personnel from the emergency services and the highway maintenance department were present at the scene to manage the situation.

The total damage from the accident amounts to approximately 25,000 euros. Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away.
