Two-Car Collision in Auckland's Stanmore Bay Leaves Three Critical

A serious road traffic incident occurred in Auckland's Stanmore Bay on Whangaparāoa Rd outside Stanmore Bay New World around 4.10pm. The incident involved two vehicles, and as a result, a cordon has been set up to close the road, with approximately 15 police officers present at the scene.

Emergency services, including the fire brigade, were quickly on the scene to attend to the collision. Three patients were transported to hospitals, with one in a critical condition, another in a serious condition, and a third in a moderate condition. One of the critical patients was taken to Auckland City Hospital, while the other two were taken to Auckland City Hospital and North Shore Hospital, respectively.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified of the incident, and a detailed investigation is expected to follow. However, the name of the police officer who led the accident scene has not been publicly disclosed. Two fire engines are assisting police and ambulance at the scene to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those involved in the collision.

As of now, the road remains completely blocked due to the collision, and the incident is still ongoing. RNZ estimates that the incident may continue for several hours as emergency services work to clear the scene and transport the injured to hospitals. The public is advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes to their destination.
