In a shocking turn of events, a 31-year-old man with Iraqi citizenship has been arrested in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl at Friedland station in Lower Saxony on August 11.

The suspect, identified as Muhammad A., was initially found causing a disturbance at the station before the incident. He was taken to the Asklepios Specialist Clinic, where he became aggressive in the facilities of the Lower Saxony State Reception Office.

The tragic incident occurred at around 16:00 on August 11. Upon arrival, the police found three people, including the suspect, at the scene. The man agreed to a breathalyzer test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 1.35%.

The DNA traces of the suspect were found on the right shoulder of the victim, leading to his identification. The Göttingen public prosecutor's office is investigating the case, and the possibility of a prison sentence or psychiatric clinic placement for the suspect is still undetermined.

The victim, a Ukrainian girl, was pushed against a freight train at the station, leading to her death. The incident occurred without any video surveillance at Friedland station at the time.

The man was initially taken into police custody but was released due to lack of evidence at the time. However, the suspect was tracked down using DNA examinations, leading to his arrest on Friday, August 29, from a clinic in Lower Saxony.
