Tragic death of a Bavarian woman in a mountain mishap
In the picturesque Allgäu region, two hikers have unfortunately lost their lives in separate incidents, leaving a deep sense of sorrow among the local community and fellow hikers.
The first incident occurred near the Höfats-West summit at Oberstdorf, where a 67-year-old man from Beuren near Esslingen met with a fatal accident. After a fall, the man was found dead by the police following a lengthy search. The exact cause of the fall remains a mystery.
In a heart-rending turn of events, a 51-year-old woman from Hesse also lost her life in another incident at the Schattenberg near Oberstdorf. She slipped and fell while hiking with her husband, succumbing to her injuries on the mountain.
Upon arrival at the scene, the on-site doctor confirmed the hiker's tragic demise. Despite the valiant efforts of the rescue services, they were unable to save the hiker's life.
The hiker who perished near the Gehrengrat in the "Obere Schütz" area was a 60-year-old man from the Bavarian district of Main-Spessart. He slipped and fell approximately 200 meters down steep rocky terrain while hiking towards the Freiburger Hut with three companions from the Ravensburger Hut.
In an effort to aid the hiker's companions, a helicopter was employed to transport them to the valley after the accident. Witnesses of the accident immediately alerted the rescue services, ensuring a swift response to the scene.
