Elderly Couple Found Dead in Chao Phraya River in Bangkok

Yesterday evening, an unfortunate incident occurred in Bangkok, Thailand, as an elderly couple was found dead in the Chao Phraya River. The victims, aged 62, were identified by their relatives.

The incident was captured on CCTV, showing the couple embracing on Rama VII Bridge at 7.25 pm. A construction supervisor, who was working nearby, witnessed the couple on the bridge railing, hand-in-hand, walking towards the edge. However, when he stopped his car to check on them, they had vanished.

The search for the couple's bodies began immediately after they were reported missing. The initial search focused on the bridge but yielded no results. Divers were later deployed to search the Chao Phraya River.

The man's body was discovered this morning in the river near Rat Burana district, downstream from the Rama VII Bridge. Sadly, the woman's body was found upstream from the bridge, near the Rama VIII Bridge.

The search for the couple's bodies was conducted by Bang Kruai Police and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation. Details about the specific police officers involved in the initial search are not currently available.

The man was wearing a white shirt, and the woman was wearing a floral top. The incident has left the community saddened and shocked, and our thoughts go out to the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time.

The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
