Tragic incident on Hattinger Street
On Saturday afternoon, September 6, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on Hattinger Street near the intersection of Heidestraße in Schwelm.
At approximately 3:40 PM, a 46-year-old man from Schwelm was driving a Mercedes-Benz, which collided head-on with a 59-year-old woman from Schwelm in a Mazda. The impact was violent, causing severe damage to both vehicles.
The woman in the Mazda was trapped and suffered serious injuries. She was treated at the scene before being freed using hydraulic rescue equipment and taken to a hospital in Wuppertal for further treatment. The man sustained minor injuries and was examined at the scene but did not need to be taken to a hospital.
