Train Halted Due to Galloping Equine Obstacle

Yesterday, in the small town of Caldern, a regional train traveling from Buchenau (Lahn) to Marburg was brought to a halt due to an unexpected obstacle - a runaway horse.

According to reports, the driver of the train observed a white horse running alongside the tracks. Concerned for the safety of both the animal and the passengers, the driver allowed the horse to cross the tracks before continuing the journey. However, the horse did not stop there. It ran directly onto the tracks, causing the train to halt.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among either people or animals during the incident. By the time the police arrived, the horse had been caught by its owner and returned to the paddock.

The Federal Police Station Giessen responded to the incident, and the Federal Police Inspectorate Kassel has initiated an administrative offense procedure against the horse owner. The exact reason for the horse's escape remains unclear, but it is emphasized that animal keepers are obligated to check pasture fences to prevent animals from escaping.

Deutsche Bahn AG reported the incident to the Federal Police Inspectorate Kassel, and the search results do not provide the name of the horse owner responsible for the escape of his horse or any information about an administrative offense procedure initiated by the Federal Police Kassel.

It is also important to note that it must be ensured that pasture animals have sufficient feed and water. In this case, it appears that the horses had limited feed in the paddock.

The Federal Police urge all animal keepers to take their responsibilities seriously and ensure the safety and well-being of their animals, as well as the safety of the public.
