New Railway Operator Sought for North West Brandenburg Network

The Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) has launched a competition to find a new railway operator for the North West Brandenburg network. The current network includes the RE6 and RB55 lines, which run between Wittenberge and Berlin, and Neuruppin and Hennigsdorf. From 2028, the RB73 line will be integrated into the network, running between Kyritz and Neustadt (Dosse).

The competition aims to find a company to ensure operation on the network from 2028. The name of the train operating company to be selected has not been specified yet; the VBB has called for a tender to find a railway company to operate the lines RE6, RB55, and RB73 starting from 2028.

The goal of the competition is to improve the Wittenberge - Neuruppin - Hennigsdorf - Berlin axis. The frequency of trains on the North West Brandenburg network routes is to be increased from 2028, with more trains to run on the routes. The competition is aimed at finding a company to operate the North West Brandenburg network from 2028, with the aim of enhancing the Wittenberge - Neuruppin - Hennigsdorf - Berlin axis.

The VBB spokesperson stated that the competition is for a railway operator to take over the operation of the North West Brandenburg network from 2028. The tender covers the RE6, RB55, and RB73 lines, with the aim of providing better and more frequent services for passengers using these routes.

The competition is open to all interested railway companies, with the successful operator set to take over the operation of the North West Brandenburg network from 2028.
