Tram runs over young pedestrian on rail tracks
A traffic accident involving a tram on line M6 occurred in Alt-Hohenschoenhausen yesterday afternoon. The accident happened just before 12 pm on the Landsberger Allee.
The tram driver, who was heading towards Hackescher Markt, initiated an emergency brake but could not prevent the collision. The accident involved a 12-year-old boy who entered the tram tracks. The boy was injured in his head and leg in the accident.
Emergency services were quick to respond, taking the injured boy to a hospital for further treatment. The tram driver declined medical treatment following the accident. She was visibly shaken and unable to continue her shift after the incident.
Traffic on line M6 was disrupted in both directions for about an hour during the accident investigation.
