Transformation of Bus Routes 1 and Saturn Stems from Forest Pasture Conversion

The city of Gießen will commence the renovation of the inbound bus stop "Waldweiße" on Frankfurter Straße, starting August 1, 2025. This renovation will make the "Waldweiße" bus stop barrier-free.

During the construction period, some changes will be made to the local bus services. The night bus line Saturn will not be able to serve the stops "Leihgesterer Weg", "Natural Sciences", and "Underhof". However, it will serve the stops "Petrus Church" in Wartweg and "Röntgen Street" in Röntgen Street instead of the skipped stops.

For the night bus line Saturn, alternative stops during the reconstruction of the "Waldweiße" stop on Frankfurter Straße are "Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße", "Bocklemünd", and "Neusser Straße".

The construction traffic light on Frankfurter Straße may cause delays for bus line 1. Due to the construction-related one-way closure of Frankfurter Straße, bus line 1 will not be able to serve the "Brüder-Grimm-Schule" stop in both directions in Lützellinden.

All trips to and from Allendorf and Lützellinden on bus line 1 will go via Frankfurter Straße and Allendorfer Straße to the next stop, "Brüder-Grimm-Schule (South)". A connection to the shuttle taxi to the city districts of Allendorf and Lützellinden is possible at the "Brüder-Grimm-Schule (South)" stop during the night bus service.

Starting August 1, trips on bus line 1 that have "Waldweiße" as their final stop will end and start at the "Schulgärten" stop. The "Waldweiße" turning loop will not be available during the renovation.
