Translated Eruption Closure in Munich: 150-Year-Old Restaurant Shuts Down - "My Life's Achievement"

In the heart of Haidhausen, Munich, the traditional inn Preysing Garden has filed for insolvency, marking a significant blow to the local community. The owner, Konstantinos Papadakis, deeply regrets this development and considers Preysing Garden as his life's work.

Business operations at Preysing Garden will have to be discontinued shortly, leaving 37 employees uncertain about their future. Despite intensive examination of all possibilities, a restructuring for Preysing Garden was found to be not feasible due to the inn's deteriorating financial situation.

Mr. Papadakis had attempted to find a successor solution for the company as early as the turn of the year 2024/2025, but these efforts have unfortunately failed. The lease for Preysing Garden's premises expires in 2026, and there is currently no long-term planning security available for potential investors or successors.

The Munich District Court appointed Dr. Matthias Hofmann as the provisional insolvency administrator for Preysing Garden. Dr. Hofmann expresses sympathy for the long-standing employees and regular guests of the inn, assuring them that he is in contact with the lessor and is confident that Preysing Garden will return under new management in the future.

At present, there is no publicly available update on the search for a successor to the traditional Preysing Garden inn in Munich. The community hopes for a swift resolution that preserves this important part of Haidhausen's heritage.
