Travelers Reportedly Harassed, Claimed Perpetrators Shouted Slogans Linked to the Nazi Salute, According to BPOLI MD

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, four male passengers on an Intercity Express train towards Berlin were excluded from further travel at Stendal Central Station. The incident occurred at 22:15, when both federal and state police officers were waiting at platform 3.

The men, aged 29, 45, 47, and 59, were ordered off the train by the officers following reports of loud behaviour, shouting, and allegedly showing the Hitler salute. Witness statements also accused these passengers of displaying the offensive gesture.

Upon arrival at the station, the officers spoke to the train conductor, located the group, and ordered them off the train. The men were then informed of the charges against them, including a warning about their rights.

The officers involved recorded the identities of the suspects and some nearby witnesses. The four men admitted to being loud but denied making any far-right statements. They complied with the order and were subsequently excluded from further travel.

The men were charged with insults, using symbols of unconstitutional organizations, and incitement of the people.
