Treatment Success: Boy from Afghanistan finds recovery at the clinic

In the town of Solingen, a 13-year-old boy named Kakar Qudratullah recently underwent a complex procedure to restore his severely injured urinary tract. Hailing from Afghanistan, Kakar was brought to the clinic due to a serious injury, and the procedure was facilitated by Peace Village International in 2023.

Kakar's pelvis was severely damaged, pressing on the urinary tract area. The exact cause of his pelvic fracture remains uncertain, with both a traffic accident and an explosion or detonation of an explosive device as possible causes. Dr. Stephan Schulte, a senior physician at the Solingen clinic, performed the operation, creating an artificial bladder outlet for Kakar.

The Solingen clinic has been collaborating with Peace Village for years to provide medical treatment for sick and injured children from war and crisis areas. After the successful treatment, Kakar will be able to return to his home country. However, he will require a continuous supply of bags for urine drainage.

Kakar is one of the many children living in the children's home in Oberhausen. These children are from war and crisis areas, and they are not accommodated with host families during their stay in Germany. Up to 140 children of different age groups can live in the children's home at the same time.

Uli Preuss, a person associated with Peace Village, is also connected to the children's home in Apeldoorn, where the children treated by Peace Village are housed. Mr. Preuss assures that the Afghan children will not be left alone in Afghanistan, with partner organizations and doctors to continue their care.

After the treatment is completed, the children return to their families. Peace Village International facilitated the request for Kakar's treatment at the Solingen clinic, ensuring that he received the medical attention he needed. The organization continues to work tirelessly to provide aid and support to children affected by war and crisis around the world.
