In the early hours of Friday, a serious incident took place on Kreisstraße 5929 between Hattingen and Emmingen. A Mercedes Sprinter collided with a tree, causing severe damage to the vehicle.

The driver, a 45-year-old individual, was initially reported to be unharmed. Police officers arrived at the scene around 01:30 AM and conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver, which revealed a reading of 1.2 per thousand. A blood test was also arranged.

Following the test results, the driver will be charged for driving under the influence. The driver's license was confiscated by the police officers. The total economic damage to the Sprinter is estimated at around 50,000 euros.
