Trump, following Nixon's lead, allegedly endeavors to meddle with the Federal Reserve, according to Rep. Ro Khanna's assertions.

In a recent turn of events, Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook is engaged in a legal battle regarding her termination. President Donald Trump moved to fire Cook on Monday, a decision that Cook is challenging as unlawful under federal law.

The reason for Trump's move to fire Cook is allegations of mortgage fraud. Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte accused Cook of putting false information on mortgage applications before joining the Fed. Cook, however, has contested these allegations and challenged Trump's authority to dismiss her.

Meanwhile, Cook's lawsuit is not the only political drama unfolding. Representative Ro Khanna, D-Calif., has accused President Trump of following President Richard Nixon's playbook to interfere with the Federal Reserve. Khanna argues that Trump's tariff policies are standing in the way of the Federal Reserve lowering interest rates, and if Trump were to repeal the blanket tariffs, he wouldn't be putting the inflationary pressure that exists, and the Fed would be able to cut rates.

Khanna, along with Representative Thomas Massie, is co-sponsoring a bill to make the Trump administration release "all unclassified records" on Jeffrey Epstein. On Wednesday, they plan to host a press conference with "survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's abuse." Many speakers at the press conference have not spoken publicly about their experiences before. They will be telling their story, and they will be saying clearly to the American public that they want the release of the Epstein files for full closure on this matter.

The Federal Reserve is set to meet in September to determine whether to lower interest rates. The outcome of this meeting could be significantly influenced by the political drama surrounding the Fed and the Trump administration.

As the legal and political battles continue, Cook remains determined to fight for her position. Her lawsuit, along with the upcoming press conference and the bill co-sponsored by Khanna and Massie, promises to keep these issues in the spotlight.
