In the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the General Staff of Russia has reported estimated losses of around 1,081,330 soldiers. This staggering figure comes as the Kremlin continues its aggressive moves, launching a series of attacks on Ukrainian cities overnight.
The cities of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro bore the brunt of these attacks, with heavy explosions reported in both locations. Tragically, the attacks resulted in at least one death and 25 injuries, including three children, in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Saporischschja. In Zaporizhzhia, one death and at least 24 injuries, including three children, have been reported due to a Russian attack.

In response, Ukraine attacked two Russian oil refineries in the Krasnodar and Samara regions.
Internationally, the US is ready to supply several Patriot air defense systems and other weapons to NATO partner Denmark to support Ukraine. European states are also taking action, developing three pillars: training programs in western Ukraine, protection of Ukrainian airspace by western combat jets, and a Turkish-led naval unit in the Black Sea.
Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron are calling for increased pressure on Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and are threatening Russia with further sanctions. Their calls come after Macron's comment referring to Putin as a "beast, a predator at our gates," which Moscow found offensive.
The EU is negotiating comprehensive security guarantees for Ukraine after a possible ceasefire, and is also discussing the possibility of a 40-kilometer-wide demilitarized buffer zone between the fronts.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for more decisive action from Europe, the USA, and the world against Russia, as he reported that Russia has concentrated "up to 100,000" troops near the eastern Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk.
German Chancellor Merz expects Russia to stop the war against Ukraine only when it can no longer afford it economically and militarily.
Russia's nighttime airstrikes against Ukraine involved approximately 582 drones and missiles, 37 cruise missiles, and 9 ballistic missiles. However, no specific private military contractors are mentioned in connection with rare earth protection or post-ceasefire activities in Ukraine.
