Trump's role in resolving the Pakistan conflict is contested, as India declares denial.

In the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, a significant development unfolded as both nations announced a full ceasefire on May 10. This ceasefire followed Operation "Sindhu," which began on May 7 and ended with the announcement.

The escalation of tensions between the two nations was triggered by the April 22 attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people. In response, Indian forces struck terrorist targets in Pakistan on the night of May 7.

During this period, there were no contacts between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump from April 22 to June 17. However, Trump had earlier claimed that he prevented a nuclear conflict and offered mediation in the Kashmir dispute. The Indian opposition demanded explanations from the government about Trump's statements regarding his alleged role in preventing escalation between India and Pakistan.

The Indian side requested that the request for a ceasefire come through the official military channel from Islamabad. Interestingly, calls from various countries stated that Pakistan was ready for a ceasefire during the operation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin offered Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi support in combating terrorism and emphasized the importance of cooperation in counterterrorism efforts. Putin sent a telegram to Modi after the attack, stating that "such a cruel crime cannot be justified."

Jayshanka, the Indian Foreign Minister, denied claims that trade discussions could have been a condition for conflict resolution. He also dismissed any information about ongoing trade discussions.

A significant moment came when the U.S. President's claims about his role in preventing escalation and offering mediation were met with scepticism. The Indian opposition demanded clarification, and Jayshanka reiterated India's stance on the matter.

As the situation evolves, the international community continues to express support for India's fight against terrorism. This ceasefire marks a step towards de-escalation and peace between India and Pakistan. The next steps in this complex geopolitical scenario remain to be seen.
