"TSV Uhlbach Makes a Grand Emergence in Soco Stuttgart"
The crime series "SOKO Stuttgart" is set to captivate audiences once more, as filming for a new episode takes place in the picturesque town of Uhlbach, Germany. This episode, titled "The Miracle of Zechingen", is expected to air at the end of March 2026.
The filming set is a challenging one, with 106 extras and extensive grounds to manage. The Uhlbacher sports field, nestled amidst vineyards, has been transformed into a fictional small town named Zechingen. The football pitch, famously compared to the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro by journalist and author Hans Blickensdörfer in 1977, provides a striking backdrop for this intriguing episode.
The story revolves around the death of former Zechinger Christian Aigner, a well-known football professional. The night before his death, a lively celebration took place in the clubhouse to mark the 20th anniversary of "The Miracle of Zechingen". TSV Uhlbach, a regional league team, is also featured in this episode, with their matches being televised for added authenticity.
Timo Hildebrand, a former VfB player, takes on the role of the victim, Chris Aigner. Hildebrand, who expresses enjoyment in trying new things, found the filming day on the Uhlbacher sports field to be a great experience. Alongside Hildebrand, Ulrike Folkerts, known for her role as the Tatort commissioner, is a guest star in the episode. Folkerts portrays a boxing trainer in the series.
The director of the episode is Patrick Winczewski, with Matthias Papenmeier handling cinematography for the 17th season of "SOKO Stuttgart". The investigation leads to the initial suspicion of Nina Schlichting, coach of the victorious women's team and mother of the victim's daughter. Sebastian Rupp, Aigner's former teammate and the clubhouse owner, also comes under scrutiny.
Joining the cast are well-known actors Eugene Boateng, Emma Forchel, and Antonio Lallo, along with some current members of TSV Uhlbach who volunteered to be extras. The episode culminates with the discovery of a dead body in a wine cellar on the outskirts of Zechingen, promising a thrilling climax.
The new 17th season of "SOKO Stuttgart" starts airing on Thursday, October 2. For those who can't wait, the episodes will be available in the media library a week earlier. Don't miss out on this exciting new episode, filmed in the heart of Germany.
