In the ever-evolving world of electric vehicles (EVs), a new player is set to make its mark in Europe. Togg, a Turkish car brand, is preparing to launch pre-orders for its second model, the TF10, in Germany in 2024.

Togg's foray into the European market begins with Germany, a significant EV market with over 237,000 Volkswagen cars registered as of June 2024. Tesla and Renault follow closely with 164,000 and 119,000 registrations respectively. Togg, however, is eyeing a portion of this market with ambitious plans.

The TF10, an all-electric C-segment fastback, will be the first domestic car to be shipped overseas by Togg. It will come in two versions, a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) short-range version with a 52.4 kWh battery offering a 350 km range, and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) long-range version equipped with an 88.5 kWh battery, promising a staggering 600 km range.

Togg's debut in Germany is not without precedent. The brand has already made waves in its home market of Turkey, where it launched its first model, the TX10, in 2023. Since then, Togg has reached approximately 40,000 sales, with sales of the TX10 reaching 13,021 between January and June, securing a 2.81% market share in the passenger car segment and becoming the seventh most-sold model in Turkey.

In a bid to ensure the TF10's safety, Togg aims to receive a five-star rating from the Euro NCAP safety certificate. While no date has been announced for its approval, the TF10 is designed with this goal in mind.

Togg's expansion plans extend beyond just sales. The brand has partnered with lithium-ion battery manufacturer Farasis Energy and established a joint venture, Siro Energy, for battery cell production. Siro Energy plans to manufacture the first battery cells by 2026 and reach a 20 GWh production capacity.

Moreover, Chinese companies have shown interest in cooperating with Togg regarding possible battery production. Siro, a battery company, was presented alongside Togg at the IAA Mobility 2025 under the theme "Clean Energy Solutions".

Togg's ambitions don't stop at Europe. The brand aims to export 1 million battery electric vehicles (BEVs) by 2030. With the launch of the TF10 in Germany, Togg is taking a significant step towards achieving this goal.

The exact starting price of the TF10 has not been released yet. However, with Tesla's best-selling model in Germany priced around €45,000 and the Volkswagen ID.3, its main rival, priced around €40,000, Togg is poised to offer competitive pricing for its new model.

The T10F will be officially released in Turkey in March or April 2025. Until then, the spotlight is on the TF10 as it prepares to make its European debut.
