Two automobiles collide head-on in BönningstedtB, leaving five individuals injured.
On Sunday, August 24, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on Kieler Straße / B 4. The incident involved two vehicles, an Opel Corsa and a VW ID.3, which collided head-on.
The Opel Corsa was being driven by a 57-year-old Iranian woman, who had her driver's license temporarily confiscated following the accident. Her 25-year-old passenger also sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The VW ID.3, occupied by three individuals, was also heavily damaged. The 20-year-old driver of the VW suffered a shock and minor injuries. Two passengers from the VW, a 59-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, were also injured and hospitalized, with the latter classified as severely injured.
Initial findings suggest that the Opel driver may have been overtired at the time of the accident. The investigation is being conducted by the Bönningstedt police, with the investigating authority for the traffic accident being the Bönningstedt police.
The accident caused significant property damage, estimated to be over 30,000 euros. The federal road was closed for the investigation and cleanup until 23:10.
The Police Directorate Bad Segeberg has initiated a criminal investigation for the suspected offenses of endangering road traffic and negligent bodily harm. An expert was called to the scene of the accident by the Itzehoe Public Prosecutor's Office.
All the individuals involved in the accident reside in Hamburg. The investigation's findings and developments are likely to be reported by the Police Directorate Bad Segeberg.
