Two innovative sustainability-focused start-ups, Krosslinker and Ayrton Energy, receive S$1 million in catalytic funding each, following their success at The Liveability Challenge 2025 Grand Finale.

In a groundbreaking event held at ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay as part of Ecosperity Week, Krosslinker Private Limited from Singapore and Ayrton Energy Inc. from Canada emerged as the winners of The Liveability Challenge 2025 Grand Finale. Each of the winning companies secured a S$1 million grant in catalytic funding to help advance and scale their innovative solutions sustainably.

Launched in 2018, The Liveability Challenge is Asia's largest sustainability solutions platform, designed to search for the most disruptive and innovative solutions that address sustainability challenges. This year, the competition attracted thousands of applications from across the globe, shortlisted and incubated 53 finalists, and deployed more than S$12 million in funding.

The Liveability Challenge has two tracks: Decarbonisation and Cool Earth. The Decarbonisation track seeks disruptive deep-tech solutions that provide scalable and impactful solutions to reduce carbon emissions across diverse industries. Ayrton Energy Inc., a Canada-based company that develops technology for safe and cost-effective hydrogen storage and transport, was the winner of the Decarbonisation track.

On the other hand, Krosslinker Private Limited, a Singapore-based deep-tech start-up that develops passive cooling technologies in the form of aerogel materials, won the Cool Earth track. This track seeks groundbreaking innovations that specifically address the challenges posed by climate-induced extreme weather conditions.

The winners were selected after a competitive and rigorous judging session, with the support of strategic partners such as Enterprise Singapore, OCTAVE Well-being Economy Fund, TRIREC, Valuence Ventures, and Amazon Web Services, which was the Tech for Good partner for the event. Additionally, the winners were supported by Temasek Foundation and organised by Eco-Business.

The Liveability Challenge's strategic partners this year are Enterprise Singapore, OCTAVE Well-being Economy Fund, TRIREC, and Valuence Ventures. These partners are committed to driving sustainable development and supporting the growth of innovative solutions that address pressing global challenges.
