Two instances of a driver's blinks occurred within a short time span
In the small town of Wenden, located in the Olpe district of North Rhine-Westphalia, a driver operating a Mercedes vehicle was caught speeding twice on the "Peter-Dassis-Ring" school route.
The speeding incidents, which occurred between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., were detected using the ESO measuring device. The first incident saw the Mercedes exceeding the speed limit by 30 km/h, resulting in a warning, a fine of 180 euros, and one point added to the driver's license register.
However, the driver's second offence was more severe. Measured again a few minutes later, the Mercedes was speeding at 63 km/h in a 30 km/h zone. This time, the driver faced a higher fine of 400 euros, a one-month driving ban, and two points in "Flensburg".
The identity of the out-of-town driver, whose vehicle bore a foreign license plate, has not been disclosed in the public reports. The Circular Police Authority Olpe, headed by Thorsten Scheen, is the responsible body for these matters. You can contact them via email at [email protected] or by phone at 02761 9269-2200.
The authority's official website, https://olpe.polizei.nrw/, provides more information about their work and initiatives. The Olpe district's fine office is also sending out correspondence to the driver in question regarding the speeding violations.
It's important to note that if the second speed was one kilometer per hour faster, the driver could have faced an even higher fine and a longer driving ban. Drivers are reminded to adhere to speed limits, especially in school zones, for the safety of all road users.
