Uecker-Randow's Oktoberfest in Meiersberg set to be its grandest yet

The small town of Meiersberg is gearing up for a grand celebration as the KULT-Oktoberfest, originally founded in 2013, prepares to welcome over 1000 guests on October 11th at 5 PM.

This year's festival, now named KULT-Oktoberfest, has attracted the attention of local businesses and companies, with some opting to turn the event into a company outing for their employees. The Vorpommern Fund of the state has also shown its support, awarding a grant of 4000 Euro for the restart of the Pomeranian Oktoberfest.

Patrick Dahlemann, head of the State Chancellery (SPD), presented the grant decision, acknowledging the challenges of securing sponsors in rural regions but emphasising the importance of such support for community events. He also highlighted the role of festivals like the Pomeranian Oktoberfest in promoting social cohesion, bringing together all generations.

BT-Events from Greifswald will handle entertainment, guest catering, and set up an 800 square meter tent for the festivities. The Pomeranian Brass Band and DJ Melody will provide the music, ensuring a lively atmosphere.

Mayor Marko Schnell and community representatives, along with local residents, have been busy decorating for the Oktoberfest, hanging up flags, organising beer mugs, pretzels, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beer. A sponsorship sum of 2000 Euro has been secured from local businesses to further enhance the event.

The festival in 2013 was the largest in the Uecker-Randow region, and this year's event is expected to surpass that, with at least 800 visitors. The festival was halted due to increasing costs and the COVID-19 pandemic for the past two years, but the community is determined to make it a regular occurrence in the future.

Some companies have expressed interest in turning the Oktoberfest into a company event with their employees, further boosting the festival's profile. The Meiersberger Oktoberfest this year will be organised by the event agency HÖP, which is also known for Oktoberfests in Berlin.

Dahlemann, who believes in the importance of such community events, said, "Festivals like the Pomeranian Oktoberfest play a crucial role in promoting social cohesion and bringing together people from all walks of life. We are thrilled to see the festival returning and growing stronger each year."

So, mark your calendars and get ready for a fun-filled evening at the KULT-Oktoberfest in Meiersberg on October 11th at 5 PM. Prost!
