Ugandans claim victory, with Musingu securing a silver medal

In the recent Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) football championship, Musingu High School from Kakamega, Kenya, put up a valiant effort but ultimately finished as silver medallists.

The semi-final match between Musingu and St Joseph Boys Kitale was postponed due to crowd trouble. However, Musingu managed to secure their place in the finals after a thrilling post-match penalty shootout, winning by a score of 4-3.

In the final, Musingu faced Bukedea from Uganda. The match was a closely contested one, with Musingu taking an early lead through Shaban Qwimba's goal. However, Bukedea equalised and went on to win the game 2-1, with Businge Yabil scoring the equaliser and the winning goal.

Musingu's journey to the finals was not an easy one. They had previously reached the final after defeating Highway High School from Nairobi, although the exact year of this previous success is not specified.

Meanwhile, St Noa Girls from Uganda retained their football girls title in the East African games. They defeated Kawempe Muslim in the final by a score of 1-0.

The East African games football tournament was held in Kisumu, with Bukedea replacing Amus College as the new champions. Nasokol, Kobala Girls, and Madira underperformed in the tournament, while Butere Girls finished fifth.

The FEASSSA football games include teams from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi. The final was initially scheduled to be played in Kakamega but was moved to Moi Stadium in Kisumu after crowd trouble in the semi-final match between Musingu and St Joseph Boys Kitale.

Despite the disappointing result, Musingu High School can be proud of their performance in the tournament. They showed great determination and skill throughout the competition, and their silver medal is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
