Dortmund Resident Charged After Drunk Driving Incident

A traffic accident occurred in the Dortmund district of Bovinghausen on Monday, 10th February, at around 16:50. The incident, now Case No.: 0142 with the local police, involved a 39-year-old Dortmund resident driving a Citroën.

According to the police, the driver was under the influence and was not in possession of a valid driver's license at the time of the accident. The crash took place on Uranusstraße, heading south, and unfortunately, it resulted in damage to two parked cars (an Opel and a VW), as well as a house wall.

The driver, upon realising the accident, fled the scene on foot. However, police officers were able to locate him unharmed at the registered address of the Citroën's owner. A breathalyzer test confirmed that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident, and a blood test was ordered and taken at the station.

Following the investigation, the 39-year-old is now facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence, driving without a license, endangering traffic, and leaving the scene of an accident. The impounded Citroën was inspected, revealing that the driver does not have a valid driver's license.
