Speeding Crackdown on Oldenburg-Nord Motorway Junction

In an effort to enforce traffic safety and comply with speed limits, the highway police in Oldenburg conducted a speed control operation on the Oldenburg-Nord motorway junction towards Wilhelmshaven this morning. The operation, led by the Police Inspectorate Oldenburg-City / Ammerland, lasted from approximately 07:30 to 11:00.

During the controls, officers recorded numerous speed violations, with a total of 90 vehicles exceeding the speed limit. One driver, a 19-year-old, was measured driving at an alarming speed of 194 km/h near the Oldenburg-Nord highway junction. This driver now faces a significant fine of 700 euros and a three-month driving ban.

Two other drivers were recorded at speeds of 176 km/h and 159 km/h. Many of the measured drivers also face administrative offence proceedings, sometimes combined with points in Flensburg and driving bans.

It is worth noting that the initial permitted maximum speed on the section was 120 km/h, which was later reduced to 100 km/h. The police continue to warn that excessive speed is one of the main causes of severe traffic accidents.

The driver measured at 194 km/h had the administrative penalty proceedings against him initiated on August 20, 2025.
