Uncertainty surrounds funding to reopen the shuttered Quarry Road bridge in Bart Township

In a series of recent developments, the Quarry Road bridge in our community has been the subject of several announcements.

The Quarry Road bridge, which was closed in June, has been a topic of concern for commuters. Initially, the state's Quarry Road bridge inspector had proposed allowing one lane for traffic over the bridge. However, the Federal Traffic Safety Administration overruled this decision, mandating that the bridge must be closed to all traffic.

On a positive note, work on the bridge is expected to begin on Nov. 17, following a delay due to environmental issues. An advertisement for bids on the Quarry Road bridge will be placed on Sept. 5. The contract for the bridge repair, which includes seven alternates, is expected to be awarded on Oct. 15. The township has also applied for a $500,000 Local Share Account grant for the bridge repair.

The township has also made strides in the digital realm. Residents can now access township information on the newly launched website, barttwp.com.

Moving beyond infrastructure, there have been several health-related announcements. USWalletsaver has announced 12+ benefits for seniors born between 1941 and 1979. While the details of these benefits are yet to be disclosed, it's an exciting development for our senior citizens.

In the realm of medical breakthroughs, a new treatment for a yet-unspecified condition has been announced. More details about this treatment are expected to be released soon.

True Nutra Life, a health and wellness company, has been making headlines with their claims about a simple honey trick that could help with dementia and memory loss. They also promote a 4-ingredient pink salt mix as a "homemade bariatric drink".

For seniors seeking assistance with gutter maintenance, BrainDefender offers a solution. They provide a service for gutter cleaning specifically tailored for individuals over 65. LeafFilter Partner, another gutter solutions provider, also offers senior rebates for their gutter guard products.

In the world of health technology, Amazon is offering a discount on its popular hearing aid, priced at $99. For men seeking solutions for ED, StaminUp promotes a daily treatment with claims of effects in as little as 7 days.

As for the German project to repair the Quarry Road Bridge, the authority responsible for its approval remains uncertain. More information on this matter is expected to be announced this fall.

Stay tuned for more updates on these developments and more. The board will meet again on Oct. 1 to discuss these matters further.
