In a tense and nail-biting finale, poker veteran Michael Mizrachi secured his eighth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet at the 2025 Main Event. This triumphant victory came after Mizrachi's earlier win in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, where he claimed his fourth title in this event.

The final table of the Main Event saw Mizrachi as the clear favourite, alongside John Wasnock, who was the only realistic challenger to his dominance. As the table shrunk to four players, Wasnock, an investment consultant with no prior winnings exceeding $56,000, demonstrated his skill and determination.

The final hand began with Wasnock taking the lead, but Mizrachi soon hit a straight to regain the advantage. The board ran A♦ 9♣ 7♣, and both players checked, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown. Wasnock flipped over A♠ 9♦, while Mizrachi revealed his 10♣ 3♣, securing the flush and the title of WSOP 2025 Main Event champion.

Mizrachi's victory leaves him one bracelet ahead of Nick Schulman, and fast-tracks him into Poker Hall of Fame consideration. Expressing his gratitude for the potential honour, Mizrachi stated his intention to continue playing and his plan to return next year.

The final two players were guaranteed a prize of at least $6,000,000, with Mizrachi walking away with the grand prize. Kenny Hallaert was eliminated in fourth place, leaving the stage for the highly anticipated heads-up battle between Mizrachi and Wasnock.

Throughout the game, Mizrachi maintained a significant chip lead, but Wasnock managed to catch Mizrachi bluffing to recoup some of what he'd lost. However, it was all over when Mizrachi raised to 30,000,000 when the 4♣ turn landed, and Wasnock jammed in his remaining chips, which Mizrachi insta-called to secure the win.

With this victory, Mizrachi has further solidified his position as one of the greatest poker players in history, adding another prestigious title to his already impressive collection.

During the thrilling heads-up battle, Mizrachi showcased his poker prowess by outmaneuvering Wasnock, maintaining a lead despite a few close calls. In a surprising twist, sports betting enthusiasts might find interest in Mizrachi's next venture—he hinted at testing his luck at casino-games, particularly sports-betting, once he steps away from the poker table.
