VfB Stuttgart in Active Transfer Pursuits Amidst Injury Concerns

VfB Stuttgart, fresh off their DFB Cup victory, find themselves in a period of active transfer activity, according to sport director Fabian Wohlgemuth. Despite the injury to key striker Deniz Undav during their recent game against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Wohlgemuth maintains that the ongoing transfer processes will not be significantly affected.

Undav, who was substituted due to injury and was seen with a bandaged knee and an ice pack, is set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of his injury. However, Wohlgemuth has indicated that any further information about Undav's injury would be speculation at this time.

Regarding the speculation about the potential transfer of Algerian footballer Badredine Bouanani from OGC Nice to VfB Stuttgart, Wohlgemuth dismissed such speculation, stating that no agreement has been reached. He also commented on the transfer of Nick Woltemade, who could depart to Newcastle United, saying that the record sum from his departure will not complicate the club's situation on the transfer market.

Wohlgemuth aims to make market-appropriate purchases for VfB Stuttgart, not overpaying due to their current financial status. If Undav's injury condition does not improve by Monday, the club might consider the transfer option of Ermedin Demirovic as a relevant alternative striker.

In a recent statement, Wohlgemuth commented on the 1:0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach, stating "A cool name - for now." The victory, though, could potentially be overshadowed by the injury to Undav, which could add pressure to VfB Stuttgart ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.

The injury sustained by Undav could potentially impact VfB Stuttgart's future games and performances. The club, however, remains focused on their transfer strategies, aiming to make the necessary adjustments to their roster while maintaining a balanced approach to their financial status.
