Accident on A57 Near Düsseldorf Causes Serious Injuries
On the morning of August 29, 2025, an accident occurred on the A57 highway towards Nijmegen, resulting in some serious injuries. The incident took place around 6:00 PM, causing traffic to be rerouted around the accident on the left and right lanes during the investigation.
The accident involved a Mercedes driven by a 47-year-old man from Cologne and a Citroën occupied by three Polish men. According to the Düsseldorf Police, the accident was likely due to a driving error while overtaking.
The Mercedes, while merging onto the highway from the A46 at the Neuss-Süd interchange, suddenly pulled sharply to the left, losing control and colliding with the concrete barrier. The impact caused the Mercedes to be thrown back into the Citroën, which was located in the middle lane at the time of the collision. As a result, the Citroën overturned, causing the 20-year-old driver to sustain serious injuries, while his two passengers were lightly injured.
Fortunately, the Mercedes driver remained unharmed. The Düsseldorf Police were called to the scene of the accident, and all lanes were reopened at around 8:45 PM.
