Unidentified individuals perished in a blazing Alfa Romeo on the BAB 1 highway close to Blankenheim, Germany. Authorities are seeking witnesses to the tragic incident.

In the early hours of Friday, 29 August, a tragic incident occurred on the A1 motorway near Blankenheim. A burning Alfa Romeo was discovered in a bush, and the driver, whose identity remains unknown, was found deceased in the driver's seat.

The police are urgently seeking witnesses about the Alfa Romeo, which had Danish licence plates. Witnesses are asked to provide any information they may have about the accident itself, including the noticeable driving behaviour of the deceased.

The incident was reported at around 00:15, with a driver calling the fire service after seeing the fire. The fire service, along with the police, deployed a helicopter equipped with a heat-seeking camera to locate the vehicle.

Upon arrival, the fire service discovered the unidentified person in the driver's seat of the car. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Aachen and the Cologne Police have announced the incident, and the Cologne Police are assuming that the incident was a traffic accident without any third-party involvement.
