Fraud Alert: Elderly Woman Targeted in Shock Call Incident in Nienhorst

Last Friday, August 29, 2025, a shocking incident of fraud occurred in Nienhagen, OT Nienhorst. An elderly woman was targeted by an unknown individual who posed as a doctor over the phone. The handover took place near the victim's residence on Behrestraße in Nienhorst.

According to the police, the man convinced the elderly woman to hand over a five-digit amount of money. Authorities want to remind the public that they never demand money over the phone. If you receive such a call, end the conversation immediately.

The police in Celle are warning about "shock calls" and advising skepticism towards calls from people claiming to be authorities demanding money. They are also looking for witnesses who have seen the unknown person and/or can provide information about the car.
