In the heart of Russia's Far East, Aurora Airlines is making strides in regional transportation, addressing challenges and improving the quality of life for residents. Established in 2020, the airline commenced operations on the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum.

Aurora has recently signed an agreement with VTB to simplify international payments and finance infrastructure programs for airlines. This move is expected to streamline operations and support the airline's growth.

Last year, Aurora recorded a small loss after the profit of 2023. However, the airline is confident it will be in the black for passenger traffic this year, as its passenger traffic for the first seven months has increased by 4%, with 742,000 people transported. The airline expects to further increase traffic by the end of the year.

Aurora's strategy for 2025 focuses on the regional transportation segment in the Far East. The airline currently operates similar routes using Bombardier Dash 8Q-400 aircraft, each with 70 passenger seats. In just a couple of months, Aurora transported 63,000 people.

To accommodate growing passenger traffic, Aurora is planning to increase investments in its fleet, expecting deliveries of Russian aircraft. Three Il-114-300 aircraft have been agreed for future delivery, with the possibility of additional purchases depending on the readiness of the aircraft from manufacturers. The Il-114-300 aircraft is considered the most convenient for routes requiring 60-70 passenger seats.

The agreement with GTLK for the delivery of three Il-114-300 aircraft does not cancel discussions about future deliveries of additional aircraft. Aurora expects the Il-114-300 aircraft to be easier to maintain due to the use of Russian spare parts, addressing a significant challenge in the aviation industry: maintaining the airworthiness of aircraft, primarily due to substantial costs and currency fluctuations associated with foreign-produced aircraft.

Aurora has launched 20 interregional, socially significant routes within the Far East, aiming to address the challenges in regional transportation. Over the past five years, the airline has transported 1.5 million passengers on this program.

However, it's worth noting that there is no available specific forecast for the passenger traffic of "Aurora" at the end of 2025 in the provided search results. Despite this, Aurora remains optimistic about its future, with its strategic investments in fleet expansion and the introduction of the Il-114-300 aircraft.
