The charming town of Verl is gearing up for its annual folk festival, set to take place from September 5th to 7th. This three-day celebration promises a vibrant mix of music, entertainment, and culinary delights that will transform the city centre into a colourful festival mile.

The festivities will kick off on Friday, 12:00 noon, on the festival lawn of the baseball club Yaks at the gymnasium. The music association Verl and entertainment group "One4you" will welcome visitors with an opening show, setting the tone for the weekend.

On Friday evening, the "After Work Beer Garden" will open its doors with live music by the band "New Soul". As the week winds down, visitors can enjoy popular classics like Autoscooter and fairground treats, as well as new attractions such as the "Koelsch Eck" on Wilhelm Street and the "Solar Wheel" on Kühlmannplatz.

The "Solar Wheel," standing tall at 33 meters high, is a new attraction this year. Developed by Tren Design, this solar-powered Ferris wheel boasts 26 gondolas and is covered with solar cells in various places, including the gondolas, spokes, and cash box. According to the manufacturer, the "Solar Wheel" is the only Ferris wheel in the world that generates its drive energy directly from sunlight.

For those seeking thrills, a new action carousel called "Heros" is available for the brave visitors. For families, the entertainment continues with performances by magician Samoti on the Yaks stage, dance school "DanceAir," the "GTown Rock Orchestra," and the dance group "DanceAir" as part of the family program on Sunday.

The "Baseball rocks" event at the Yaks will feature numerous bands creating a festive atmosphere. Cover band "Vier gewinnt" will perform live hits from "Fantastic Four," while the "Ghost Hotel" offers a spooky experience for those seeking a chilling adventure.

In addition to the attractions and entertainment, various food options are available. Visitors can indulge in crepes, cotton candy, roasted almonds, soft ice cream, and a traditional ox on a spit. Shops in the city centre will also be open on Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00 for those wanting to pick up souvenirs or explore the local shops.

Lastly, football fans can visit the fan tent of SC Verl on the access road to the Hirschgarten. The grand "80s-themed" fireworks display will conclude the festivities on the final night, promising a spectacular end to an unforgettable weekend.

So, mark your calendars and join us in Verl for a weekend filled with fun, music, and entertainment at the Verler Leben folk festival!
