United Arab Emirates Business Chambers and Angola's authorities ink pact to establish a Mutual Trade Committee
The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola have joined forces to establish the UAE-Angola Business Council. The Memorandum of Understanding for this collaboration was signed in August 2023, during an official UAE economic delegation's visit to Luanda.
The UAE-Angola Business Council is expected to create tangible opportunities for enterprises in both markets, with a focus on priority sectors. The council will launch commercial initiatives and promotional programmes to drive collaboration, and will also organise trade missions and joint exhibitions.
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers, and Vicente Soares, President of the Angolan Chamber, were the parties who signed the agreement. Mr. Al Owais described the council as a "milestone" and expressed his support for its goals.
The UAE-Angola Business Council aims to boost investment opportunities between the two countries, and to explore new markets for enterprises in both nations. In addition to trade and investment, the council will also focus on knowledge exchange, with the goal of fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.
The council is seen as a means to convert shared interests into actionable initiatives, and is expected to play a key role in expanding partnerships between the UAE and Angola. The UAE-Angola Business Council will continue to launch additional commercial initiatives and promotional programmes, with the aim of further strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.
