"United as One: SV Solingen Offers Exceptional Support to Anti-Loneliness Initiative"
In the heart of Solingen-Mitte, the newly formed SV Solingen 08/10 e.V. is taking a bold step to address a widespread social issue. Bettina Heuschkel, a member of the managing board, has highlighted loneliness as a concern, even among those who were once actively involved in sports and socialising.
The club, a product of the merger between FC Britannia Solingen 08 e.V. and VfB Solingen 1910 e.V. in the summer of 2022, is now focusing on more than just football. The initiative, named "Du+Wir=Eins - North Rhine-Westphalia against loneliness," aims to offer regular socialising opportunities for men and women through a weekly meeting in a lively clubhouse near a sports facility.
Starting on Thursday, September 12th, the meetings will take place in the freshly renovated clubhouse on the Weyersberg sports facility, Kotter Street 29. For those who would like to exchange ideas with like-minded people, there will be weekly meetings for women from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and for men from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
The state government of North Rhine-Westphalia is supporting this initiative, providing two million euros to support projects combating loneliness in all age groups and target groups. Andrea Milz, State Secretary for Sport and Volunteering, has emphasised the importance of continued attention to loneliness and measures to bring people into contact.
Card and puzzle games, as well as exchange with the sporting actors through parallel sports and training activities, ensure sociability during the meetings. The Aiello family, volunteers in the club, will take care of catering during the meetings.
Direct contact with young athletes is considered crucial for the initiative. The club's rich history of over 100 years of Solingen football has provided a strong foundation for this endeavour.
For more information about the meeting offers, please contact Bettina Heuschkel at telephone number 0172 - 570 69 05. The organization in Solingen-Mitte is the "Lebenshilfe Solingen," with Ursula Thiele as the contact person for additional details. A prior, non-binding registration is desirable for good organisation.
The proximity to the place of the event is important for the initiative to combat loneliness. The clubhouse on the Weyersberg sports facility is the location for this commendable initiative by the SV Solingen 08/10 e.V. Join us in combating loneliness, one conversation at a time!
